BOLT HIGH SPEED CINEBOT
The BOLT High Speed Cinebot is a robotic system with multiple axes of movement that work in perfect unison for high precision control of almost any kind of movement. The setup consists of a robotic arm that sits on a track system with a length of up to 12 meters. The unique property of this system is that it is the fastest motion control system in the world, while ensuring repeatable and frame accurate movements.
THE BOLT WORKFLOW
The way it works is that our operator programs a number of "waypoints" or 'keyframes" in cooperation with the director. The minimum is a set of two of these points - a begin and an end point. The software then automatically calculates arcs or direct lines between these two points. If changes in direction are required along the way additional points will be added. All the while the software will know which point in space the robot is supposed to be looking at and where to pull focus. Also, the duration of the move or its individual elements can quickly be adjusted. Once the move is programmed it can be repeated frame accurately as many times as necessary, and also stored and retrieved for later use.
Additional motors for zoom and iris can be added to the setup, as well as external axes such as a model mover working in sync with the programmed move or a light beam triggering the move the moment when it is crossed (or with a delay, if necessary). All this allows for utmost precision on many different levels. There are hardly any limits to the imagination and many creative ideas that previously seemed impossible become a simple, straight forward exercise. CAMBLOCK ADVENTURE
The CamBlock "Adventure" motion control system is made up of a motorized slider up to 8m in length and a compact pan/tilt head. Its robust design allows for working out in the field under harsh conditions and it can be set up almost anywhere. The Adventure is perfect for timelapse shooting, but can also be used with small cinema packages for real time filming at a top speed of 40cm per second on the slider. Because of its cable-free design the head can move freely without getting tangled. An additional lens motor enables the programming of focus pulls. Setting up the rig and programming moves with an Android tablet is a straight forward affair making this a versatile system that yields high quality results in any environment.
